I’m not sure what to make of this comic. It’s about Feudal Japan back in the 1600’s, about a Samurai who is now Ronin because his master died in battle. But the Ronin, he looks familiar. He looks like Wolverine? How is this possible? I knew Wolverine aged very slowly, but far as I knew he was from the mid-1800’s Civil War time frame and in the USA, not Japan. What kind of sorcery is this?
Well apparently it’s Marvel sorcery, by planting look a likes into feudal Japan. In this comic it doesn’t seem that they are super hero’s, they don’t have their powers it seems, but are normal people. This particular comic only seems to be about Wolverine, so I’m not sure where the other super heroes mentioned in the blip above come into this story. They aren’t in this first issue at least.
I really liked this comic, I liked the twist and the confusion that it brought to me as I tried to process what was going on. I didn’t expect that.
Although I’m not a big fan of the artwork, to me it’s a bit too rough looking. I kinda wish it had more of a old Japanese style. It’s too late now to change the artwork, so it will do.
Unfortunately as with everything Marvel, it has DRM. -1
